Cane toads march on WA
4 Feb 2008

The West Australian government has been urged to invest in measures to halt the spread of cane toads with the pests being spotted only 53 kilometres from the border. The Kimberly Toad Busters have said that more needs to be spent on finding ways to capture the toads as poisoning means that someone still has to collect the bodies so that animals don't get poisoned. The toads are only 20 kilometres from a colony of endangered pygmy crocodiles on the Bullo River in the Northern Territory and have already killed at least 10 freshwater crocodiles to the south.
