Truckers warn they can't haul bumper crop 6 Mar 2008
The trucking industry is concerned that it may not have the capacity to move this year's crop since rail freight company Pacific National ceased servicing smaller towns in NSW and Victoria. Australian Road Train Association chief executive Duncan Bremner said that if the anticipated bumper crop eventuates this year there won't be enough trucks available. Federal and state governments are looking at creating a taskforce to address the problem and the NSW government is considering upgrading tracks in rural NSW.
