Biofuels need tax support 10 Mar 2008
The biofuels industry has called on the Rudd government to review the previous government's planned phase-out of tax exemptions from 2011 as well as introduce a mandated a target for their use. Renewable Fuels Australia executive director, Bob Gordon, said that the biodiesel industry was on its knees at the moment with only two processing plants operating out of nine that are being built. "All the rest have been mothballed and people put out of jobs (partly) because of the so-called fuel tax reform bill," he said.
