Wheat yield likely to whither
18 Jul 2008

Australian Crop Forecasters cut its outlook for Australia''s wheat crop for a third time this year to 23.5 million tonnes. The ACF model, using the Bureau of Meteorology''s outlook for drier than normal conditions in southern Australia suggests the crop may come to only 19 million tonnes. Forecasts have already been cut by up to 13 percent since first early predictions in March of a crop up to a record 27 million tones.
