Grains chief sees good times ahead
26 Mar 2009

Charlton grain grower Russell Amery will become the new president of the Grains Group of the Victorian Farmers Federation today. Amery says he wants to bed down the VFF''s new brokerage alliance with Agfarm and sees a bright future for the industry, despite the current difficult economic conditions. "Regardless of where the world financial crisis is, everybody has to eat, and whether it''s eating grain, *or* eating red meat *or* chicken that''s derived from stock that are fed grain, we all need that basic service," he said.
