Budding interest in Dairy Farmers
1 Jul 2008

Fonterra is in talks with National Foods/Warrnambool Cheese and Butter about joining the bid for Dairy Farmers. Parmalat is cooperating with Murray Goulburn to mount a separate bid. Analysts say the Dairy Farmers deal could be worth $800 million to $1 billion. Fonterra own Nestle''s yoghurt and dessert business since last week, while Dairy Farmers have the rights to use Nestle''s Ski branding until 2012.
