Sugar and wool buck the downward trend
13 Mar 2009

The outlook for world grain, beef, dairy, wool and export wine prices is bleak whilst the forecasts for lamb and sugar is positive according to Rabobank. Grain prices have fallen by 60 per cent in 12 months while beef producers face having carbon emission costs shifted to them from processors next year. Wine exports fell by 17 per cent during the year and export wine prices fell 8 per cent to $3.50 / litre on average. Dairy prices have generally weakened with cheese being the hardest hit.
