Fee hike for truckers
9 Jul 2007

A proposal by the National Transport Commission to almost double registration fees for B-double trucks over the next three years has been criticised by the industry who say that it will hurt exporters and increase the number of vehicles on the road. The industry is already facing increased costs from new emissions standards and tougher accreditation rules. A spokesman from the National Association of Road Freight Operators said that consumers and agriculture industries will end up footing the bill.
