Feds refine terms for farmers to leave the land
17 Feb 2005

The federal government said it would provide income support under its Farm Help program of up to $5,500 for training, and re-establishment grants of up to $50,000 for people who decide to sell up and leave the land. Eligible farmers must derive more than half their gross income from the farm enterprise and contribute more than 50 per cent of their capital to it. Applicants must have been farming for two years continuously before asking for help under the scheme.
