3 Mar 2005

New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra said it would raise its offer for Australian dairy processor. Fonterra said it would offer $6 a share for NatFoods share, 10 ˘ a share more than the alternative bid from Phillippine’s group San Miguel. Fonterra said it would pay $6.20 a share if it achieves an ownership threshold of 90 per cent. Fonterra said it had reached agreement with the French owners of the Yoplait brand to retain local marketing rights to the brand once it took control of National Foods.
