Landmark severs ties with Rabobank
12 May 2005

Wheat exporter AWB severed a nine-year relationship between its Landmark subsidiary and Dutch financier Rabobank. AWB said yesterday that Rabobank would cease funding $1 billion of term and seasonal loans provided by Landmark, its rural supplies business, from October. AWB said the decision meant Landmark would no longer be selling Rabobank loans while competing with Rabobank's own rural managers and store-front branches for the same business. AWB will line up alternative funding, and also name another bank to provide a farm management deposit product under the Landmark brand.
