AWB seeks merger with Roberts
29 Jun 2005

Speculation persists that AWB will seek to negotiate a merger with Tasmanian-based rural services provider Roberts. Three weeks ago, Roberts said an offer from AWB of $9.50 a share was inadequate. Roberts had earlier abandoned a planned merger with NSW-based Ruralco. AWB a couple of weeks ago tried to organise a meeting between its managing director Andrew Lindberg and Roberts chairman Andrew Kemp to discuss the issues but was told that would be difficult to arrange before late July.
