AAC reports loss
13 Aug 2008

Beef producer Australian Agricultural Company Ltd (AACo) reported a net loss of $2.1 million for the first half of fiscal 2008, compared to a net profit of $5.9 million in the previous corresponding half. Higher fuel, labour and feed grain costs, as well as dry conditions on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory had affected results. AACo is adding 100,000 animals to its base herd of around 500,000 within two years. The company is considering options for diversifying out of beef.
