East Gippsland farmers promised more water
18 Sep 2006

Farmers and residents in east Gippsland can expect additional water allocations from the Blue Rock Dam. Some of the water from this dam is used to cool power stations in the Latrobe Valley and much of this may be diverted for urban demand in Melbourne. The state government hopes to use recycled water for the purpose of cooling power stations.
