Labor wheat plan attacked 14 Mar 2008
The federal government has revealed its plan for the future of wheat marketing in Australia which replaces the single desk with three separate regional authorities. The Nationals strongly oppose the plan, saying that Labor's draft bill did not ensure that returns to growers were maximised every season. Leader Warren Truss did not say that the Nationals will vote against the legislation, but that it should be examined by a Senate committee.
