Banrock wetlands to be given a drink 9 May 2008
The wetlands at Banrock Station in South Australia's Riverland region will receive 617 megalitres of water flow later this month in an effort to save plant and animal habitats. Co-operating on a plan to prevent potentially irreversible salinity problems, the Banrock Station wine company will contribute a further 215 megalitres. The wetlands were disconnected from the Murray in January last year to save water and has been completely dry since March last year.
