Farmers escape carbon trading for now
17 Jul 2008

Farmers groups welcomed the delayed application of carbon trading to agriculture. Agriculture will not be included in the emission trading scheme until at least 2015 despite being one of the most intensive emitters of greenhouse gasses. Production of beef and dairy, sheep and rice produce 2,000 tonnes of emissions per $1 million of revenue.
