Coles and Woolies still rule prices
5 Aug 2008

Supermarket grocery prices will remain high despite attempts to reshape it following the ACCC''s grocery price inquiry. Milk and other produce will be subject to unit pricing to allow consumers to compare between brands and between chains. The minister concedes that the grocery watch web site is unlikely to bring prices down. Researchers said the measures would not break the Coles/Woolworths duopoly which controls 80 per cent of the market. Herald Sun, 05/08/2008
