Murray Goulburn wants Dairy Farmers
18 Aug 2008

Murray Goulburn co-operative has lodged a separate bid for Dairy Farmers, after the joint venture bid with Parmalat fell apart in early August. The ACCC is seeking submissions on the Murray Goulburn bid now and expects to announce findings on the 21 August. Murray Goulburn intends to keep the Dairy Farmers co-op entity intact in a bid that is being seen as appealing to famers who want to stay in a co-op. Murray Goulburn faces strong competition from national Foods and Warrnambool Cheese and Butter.
