Wheat growers lose special status at AWB
4 Sep 2008

Wheat growers and shareholders in AWB finally voted to scrap the former wheat export monopoly''s shareholding structure that gave 18,000 wheat growers greater influence over the company. Shareholders meetings in February and August failed to deliver the necessary super majority of wheat growers voting on the plan. A special meeting yesterday finally resolved to get rid of the special class of shares.
