CSIRO says we can save the rivers
10 Sep 2008

There is enough water in the Murray Darling river system to save the Lower Lakes in South Australia, a CSIRO scientist told a Senate committee yesterday. The CSIRO has developed a sophisticated model of the entire river system that allows policy makers to predict flows under various scenarios. The government denied that the CSIRO modelling was being ignored. The CSIRO said it could now model the fate of water from one end of the system to the other for the first time.
