Grain exporters sign up to rail
16 Sep 2008

ABB grain will soon sign a rail transport agreement with rail-freight operator Genesee & Wyoming Australia (GWA) to move grain in South Australia. ABB said the agreement would provide certainty for SA growers and provide two trains from the Eyre Peninsula and two on standard gauge lines to Port Adelaide. Graincorp has secured a deal with Pacific National to transport grain by rail in NSW and Victoria. GWA said it could also transport wheat to Victoria if there is a larger than normal SA crop.
