AWB national pool pays wheat growers 14 Oct 2008
AWB says it has secured many long term sales for the national wheat pool. 4.35 million tonnes of wheat was delivered into the 2007/2008 National Pool, mainly from Western Australia and South Australia. AWB says it will make $571 million net payments to Australian wheat growers who delivered to the 2007/08 AWB National Pool on October 15. "The sales program is now complete, with only the execution phase, essentially shipping remaining, which continues right through into the new harvest. AWB only receives payment from customers when the wheat is shipped, so distributions essentially follow the shipping pattern," said David Johnson, AWB general manager of National Pool.
