Graincorp opens wheat, barley and canola pools

GrainCorp yesterday launched its Harvest 08 wheat, barley and canola pool products and confirmed that the company will be running pools for Western Australian growers, South Australian growers and for growers in Queensland, NSW and Victoria. Harvest 08 GrainCorp Pools are offering advances of 65 per cent and harvest finance of 70 per cent. "We understand the impact increased freight rates will have on returns. Using the terms of our five year train contract for NSW and Victoria, we will be able to offer competitive rail freight rates for pool participants and also ensure pool products have transportation to both the domestic and export markets," GrainCorp Managing Director Mark Irwin said.
