Pipeline protests get nasty
4 Dec 2008

A farmer has been charged with dangerous driving after hitting a road worker following a protest against the north-south pipeline near Glenburn in Victoria. The controversial pipeline will take water from the Goulburn River to Melbourne. More than 50 property owners tried to stop work on the project with a sit-down protest on November 13. Eight people were arrested at the site and later a road worker was clipped by a car. Police are also investigating a hit and run incident near the construction site.
