Demand for fertiliser slumps

Big fertiliser maker Incitec Pivot issued a revised profit guidance yesterday indicating that it expects profit to fall this financial year by about 33 per cent. Incitec shares fell by more than 30 per cent on the news. The company said that the outlook for global fertiliser demand had been revised down for the 2009 year. Demand is not expected to recover until the second half of the calendar year 2009 said Incitec Pivot.
