Farmers get greater say on produce code
21 Feb 2005

Farmers will have greater representation on the Produce and Grocery Industry Code of Conduct Administration Committee, after the National Farmers’ Federation lobbying. The code was established in 2000 to help resolve disputes in produce markets and to address a perceived imbalance of market power between farmers and buyers. The code covers all primary produce from dairy and eggs, to meat and fish, fruit and vegetables and even cut flowers.
