Farmers blue over labour shortage

Farm organisations and regional governments want the federal government to allow farmers to employ workers from overseas on temporary permits. The Sunraysia Economic Development Bureau said they want to fly in Chinese workers. But the Australian Workers Union, said there was a very simple reason why some farmers could not find pickers, which was that conditions under which people pick fruit are woeful.
