ABARE promotes options contracts for irrigators
4 Mar 2005

ABARE said irrigators could retain their permanent entitlement, which would act as a natural hedge against the risk of future declines in access to water resources. ABARE said options contracts would also allows governments to acquire water for environmental purposes.
