Decision due on Kiwi apple entry
3 Jun 2005

Biosecurity Australia said they expected a revised draft risk assessment of New Zealand apples to be completed in some months' time. New Zealand orchardists are campaigning to get Australia to reverse its more than 80-year-old ban on their apples based on concerns about the fireblight disease. New Zealand orchardists want their government to take action against Australia in the World Trade Organisation if the ban on NZ apples is not lifted soon.
