Exports support Tassie growers
7 Jul 2005

Tasmanian agricultural services group Webster said the outlook for produce in the state was excellent, despite loss of sales to offshore suppliers and low prices. Webster chair, Rod Roberts, said the company finalised sales for its entire export program of onions and carrots, with buyers in Europe and Asia. Roberts said that Tasmanian production was counter-seasonal to Europe and Asia. Webster will buy 50,000 tonnes of onions from 140 growers this season.
