Backpackers take advantage of extended visas
28 Nov 2005

Five hundred backpackers are taking advantage of changes to visa rules for short term visitors. The federal government said three weeks ago it would allow visitors to extend their visa to stay on and work an extended stay as fruit pickers. The new rules allow people who do harvest work for at least three months in regional Australia to apply for another 12 months on their visa.
