NSW water prices may rise
2 Dec 2005

Farmers in New South Wales can expect to pay more for water. The State Water Corporation and the Department of Natural Resources asked the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal to agree to rises in the price of water to cover 85 per cent of costs, up from 65 per cent. State Water wants to increase the prices charged to irrigators with high security licences by 40 times on the North Coast, by eight times on the South Coast and by three times in the Hunter Valley.
