Kiwis angry over effective apple ban

Pipfruit New Zealand said the safeguards proposed by Biosecurity Australia on the possible import of Apples from New Zealand were so onerous they would deny any meaningful access to the Australian market. The NZ industry maintains that Australia has not followed a World Trade Organisation ruling that mature applies do not spread the disease fire blight.
