Stone Fruit Growers face big losses 5 Jan 2006
Despite desperate last minute manouvering by the federal government, a quarantine dispute with Taiwan has not been resolved, stranding 7000 tonnes of nectarines, peaches, cherries and plums worth about $15 million which will now be sold on already depressed local markets. Growers, many from northern Victoria, face large losses as a result.
