US frosts help local grower
20 Mar 2006

Listed almond grower Select Harvests will benefit this year from frost damage to crops in California pushing up prices. Select finished last week on $14.10 with a market capitalisation of $565 million. Select’s sales were up 31 per cent for the first half and net profits up 32 per cent. Select will pay a dividend of 30 cents on 3 April. Analysts said investors should consider having up to 20 per cent of their portfolio invested in small caps.
