US olive oil deal
18 Apr 2006

Australian olive oil marketing company Piquant Blue is negotiating with a number of US retailers and has begun shipping Australian olive oil to North America. Piquant Blue says the US market is potentially worth about $97 million and the company hopes to get a quarter of that within a few years. Australian olive oil production is expected to double this year. Three bad harvests in Europe have sent the price of olive oil up about 40 per cent. Piquant Blue markets the top-selling Redisland extra-virgin brand.
