Banana growers warned not to plant all at once

The Australian Banana Growers Council warned growers not to replant all at once and create a glut of bananas in 9 – 12 months time. Banana and fruit producer Chiquita Brands South Pacific issued its third profit downgrade in five months yesterday as a result of Cyclone Larry. Chiquita said it did not expect to qualify for federal government relief.
