Phase out for 2,4-D 28 Apr 2006
Farmers are calling for a phase out period on the withdrawal of weed management tool 2,4-D following the announcement by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority to ban the product. 2,4-D is used for pasture, stubble and fallow maintenance, cereal crops, grain crops, oilseed crops, cotton, citrus crops, sugar cane, sweet corn, peanuts and bananas, and also in non-cropping situations, such as turf,” according to NSW Farmers.
