Police investigate poisoned crops
2 Aug 2006

Seven millions of dollars worth of fruit and vegetables in the Bowen region have been destroyed after being poisoned apparently by a contaminated water tanker which was used to water crops. Police are investigating the incident that has affected up to 80 hectares of watermelon, tomatoes, capsicums and beans after farmers reported their crops changing colour and wilting away.
