EC declaration likely for stone-fruit producers

The Victorian government is likely to provide “exceptional circumstances” assistance with costs shared with the federal government. The Goulburn Valley produces 75 per cent of Australia's apricot harvest and 85 per cent of its pears. About half the region's fruit was destroyed by the frosts early on Monday.
