Stone fruit yields suffer in Tasmanian frost 18 Oct 2006
Apple, cherry and stone fruit yields in Tasmania may be halved after severe frosts this week. Fruit Growers Tasmania said stone fruit and cherry orchards in the Coal River Valley, north-east of Hobart, were the worst hit. Orchards in the Huon Valley, the Derwent Valley, at Spreyton, near Devonport, and around the Tamer River, near Launceston, were also affected.
