Fruit prices continue to rise
26 Oct 2006

The latest consumer price index released by the Australia Bureau of Statistics confirms that fruit prices are continuing to rise. In the September quarter fruit prices increased by 20.5 per cent. The ABS states that the rise is due to the cost of bananas remaining high after Cyclone Larry in March and also to higher prices for apples, melons and pears.
