Banana crop getting back to normal
30 Oct 2006

Banana growers in far north Queensland shipped 100,000 cartons last week, up from 40,000 cartons a week in July. The region’s usual output is 400,000 cartons a week. Growers expect banana supplies will be back to normal by Christmas, but doubt prices will return to pre-cyclone levels of $2 a kilo.
