Too few workers on hand for banana crop 7 Nov 2006
The Australian Banana Growers' Council said it feared there won't be enough hands to pick the fruit as the crop ripens in north Queensland. The council estimates north Queensland's banana industry is facing a shortfall of up to 1500 workers – close to half its workforce before Cyclone Larry.
