High rise farm system
5 Mar 2007

Two inventors from Nimbin have come up with a system that can grow enough vegetables and fish to feed 300 people in city locations such as a roof-top or car park. The system is based on reworking of permaculture and incorporates growing fish in a large tank, transforming their waste into compost in a worm farm, then using the compost to grow vegetables hydroponically. The system uses far less water than traditional farming methods and also saves on transport and storage costs.
