Apple growers given another chance
5 Apr 2007

Australian growers will get another chance to air their concerns about the plan to import apples from New Zealand. A formal investigation by the Senate rural and regional committee may be launched if it is not satisfied that grower concerns have been met. Committee chairman Senator Bill Heffernan said the committee would hold a one-day hearing on Wednesday May 9, to allow growers to have their say and allow quarantine officials to respond.
