Production still struggling 7 Jun 2007
With prospects of irrigators being denied water for the first time unless significant rains fall, production could slip even lower than the past year. Farm production fell by $5.5 billion to $21 billion this year, with cereal crop production down 61 per cent. A Rabo Bank poll has found that, of 1740 farmers surveyed across the country, half judged their enterprises to be either 'unviable' or 'just viable'.
