NSW farmers not convinced on water plan 19 Jun 2007
Now NSW farmers have joined their Queensland colleagues in their concerns about the detail of the Murray-Darling basin water management plan. Bruce Atkinson from the NSW Farmers' Association said that farmers want the bill that rules governing bores would not change and would not be metered. John Cobb, Assistant Minister for the Environment said that the concerns of farmers were being taken into account and they are aiming to make the bill clearer. "The vast majority of genuine stock and domestic bore users will not be affected" he said.
