Research for grapes and oranges
25 Jul 2007

Almost $2 million in federal funding has been approved for research that will help grape and orange growers gain access to the Chinese market. A requirement for Chinese imports is that they be free of pests but Australian oranges are affected by Fuller’s rose weevil and grapes by fruit fly. The research will aim to eradicate the pests and open the door for exports.
